Trainings are hard. As any athlete knows, the demands before getting that much coveted gold medal can be painful. An athlete has to suffer muscle pains, getting up in the wee hours of the morning, having a limited diet and wearing skin tight skimpy clothing. But after sweating through it all, if you are great enough, you get the prize at the end of the race. It’s a natural process. One all, beginner athletes (or those who have rested a long time) has to go through. It’s the same with SEO of course. All high ranking websites started out as beginner athletes. They had to sweat through making quality articles everyday. Stretched their muscles in making good links. Spent long sleepless nights monitoring the traffic. But at the end of the day, they know it’s worth it. But just as all athletes know, they do not rest on their laurels (unless they plan to retire of course). Instead, they consistently undergo the same things, at a greater intensity, with the goal of maintaining their position. It’s a NATURAL process. And natural processes always churn out great results. It’s the same with link building. You have to be natural about it. Natural does not include getting 43,398 links on your first day. A gradual build up of links everyday is more like it. Here are 3 check lists you can use to build links naturally:
1. Check your family.
If you check you Facebook, you would be surprised at how many prospective links you can find. Check your Twitter to see the same thing. Family members and even your friends can help you link naturally. Simply ask them to make a link to their sites or blogs if they have one. Have them Twitter a link to your site. Share a link in your status message on Facebook so they can respond faster. You’ll be surprised at the slow trickle of traffic to your site.
2. Check your neighbors.
This is going local. You can check our social clubs or organizations relevant to your business or your blog. You can ask them to make a link to your site in exchange for more exposure of their organization as well. Check your local chamber of commerce also. They have an updated and comprehensive list of businesses in your area so you can contact these and ask them to make a link to your site. Think up of something creative in exchange for the link or some make the links in exchange for promotion of their business. You can also check out non-profit organizations or cause oriented groups in your area and volunteer your services for free in exchange for getting a link to your site.
3. Check the web.
Devour articles on SEO. With the fast paced changing style of the web, what is applicable now may not be that effective tomorrow. Because of this you have to update yourself continually through quality articles about SEO.
Be consistent and be constant. Just be patient and you will reap great results.
