A Few More Reminders

When my high school friends and I got together for the holidays, we swapped tales about the fun times we had. We also talked about our some of our teachers. We all agreed, though that teachers have this penchant to give the most important (most dreaded at times) announcements as an afterthought, and not seemingly a part of their speech. “And oh…by the way… I forgot to announce that we’re gonna have a quiz tomorrow.”We don’t want to do that to you, of course. Before you spread your wings for the flight, we want you to be prepared in all possible aspects of SEO.

So you have a really well written article. You think that if it’s solely based on article, your site will be on the first page of the search engine. But you know that search engine’s algorithms, crawlers, bots etc. are more complicated than that. What next, you ask. Before you break out in a sweat, here are more tips on how to optimize your content before you launch, technically speaking:

1. No spamming look alikes please. Don’t stuff the keyword field with all the words in your articles, isn’t is obvious why its called “keyword”?
2. Put pictures. This does not only help aesthetically, but bots love crawling through pages with videos and pictures so make sure you put some. Just remember that since it’s for aesthetic purposes, the pictures have to look nicely shot (high definition shots preferred) and videos have to have great audio and shot well also.
3. Keywords and/or keyword phrases should be utilized in titles, header tags and in the composition of the article. This will give them more exposure and more emphasis as well. Be subtle about it though. Don’t repeat the keyword over and over again, try to use its synonyms at times.

Now, you can feel to fly. And be confident that you can fly high (in search ranking results, that is).
