Traffic sucks. I’ve been to a place before where traffic is really bad. I remember getting stuck in a taxi for 3 hours only to find out that my destination was only 20 minutes away from my hotel. But there is a place where traffic is actually good. Not just considered good but is even desired and tools are purchased eagerly to have it! For the IT junkies and computer savvy generation, I know you know it. For the not so literate ones who have stumbled on this site, you will eventually know what I mean. Let us first define traffic in true IT guru fashion (why, from Wikipedia of course!) “Internet traffic is the flow of data in the internet.” To make this definition more graphic, we can compare it to the number of cars in the highway from the business zone to the residential zone. Now, lets narrow it down further. “Web traffic is the amount of data sent and received.” It is the number of cars who actually went inside the stores in the business zone. Or basically, the number of visitors you had, accidentally or intentionally.
I love eating! I eat the food that I can eat (since I’m a vegetarian) with great
gusto. When I’m hungry, I reach out for that extra pie and sometimes, even when I’m not hungry and someone offers me food, I bite! In our world today, due to the bombardment of ads from all corners, we are made to think different from what is really right. Take for example the fact that I will eat fudge that I’ve just seen on TV even when I’m not hungry, just because the ad made me think that I am.
You’re probably wondering why you’re reading this in a site about SEO. While it may not seem like it has nothing to do with it, think again! Here’s the parallel of that concept to SEO: (believe it or not ) SEO is not just about putting your home page on the top result; it’s about making sure that all the pages are optimized because those pages all provide traffic. It’s not just about making sure you’re not hungry anymore, it’s also about making sure you savored everything. (more…)

But as marketers know, if that product has 10 competitors in the market, with about the same price and quality and add in an aggressive marketing strategy, the answer would be the opposite.
That’s the same with websites of course. Unless you have a super duper newly minted ultra useful invention you’ll be sure to be NOT number one in Google. And as we all know in this age of rapid internet advancement, it seems that every possible name is out in the market. Then what do I do, you ask. (more…)
